Academic Information
Our Primary school’s aim and philosophy is founded on the Legae school logo which depicts young birds being reared in their nest. Additionally, our philosophy and focal point is grounded on the motto which reads “Every Child is Yours”. Fostered on this, we can sincerely say that at Legae we genuinely try to nurture every child holistically.
The school is sectioned into the Early Childhood Development and Primary School Section.
Early Childhood Development
We understand and value the importance of providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for our Early Childhood students.
Our programme seeks to stimulate the young child’s curiosity through play and taps into their creative exploration enabling them to acquire and master new skills, thus encouraging and bolstering their self confidence and self-esteem.
As their social interactions with their peers grow, so too does their ability to problem solve, question and reason, gain confidence in communicating, develop their fine motor, and eye-hand coordination skills.
At Legae we seek to foster 21st century learning and technical skills in a collaborative, cooperative and supportive learning environment, even in the very young child.
Primary School
Our primary school follows the Cambridge International Curriculum framework which culminates in students writing the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Assessments at the end of their Primary years. The lower school focuses on developing the students’ literary, numerical, scientific, kinaesthetic and naturalistic skills, amongst others.
The Primary school is sectioned into the Lower and Upper schools.
Lower School
The Lower school programme focuses on developing the whole child, whilst sufficiently equipping them with the tools and skills necessary to prosper in a rapidly developing world. Our programme seeks to cultivate a combination of the literary skills whilst stimulating the mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills. We focus on developing student confidence and their socio-emotional wellbeing by teaching and guiding them on how to interact, communicate and build healthy relationships with their peers and teachers.
Upper School
We continue to foster the whole child aimed at producing well rounded, responsible and confident students, whose talents we take pride in nurturing in a safe and welcoming environment, with good morals and values.
At Legae, we seek to empower our students to excel and achieve their full potential academically or in different sporting disciplines, amongst others. Our team of experienced and committed educators take pride in delivering the Cambridge Primary Curriculum to their students, whilst driving them to excellence by fostering intrinsic motivation and dedication.
We acknowledge the rapidly changing digital space and recognise the challenges and dangers it brings. However, we seek to integrate technology with 21st century learning skills whilst simultaneously teaching our students how to navigate the cyber space using digital devices in an effective, yet responsible and safe manner.
